The Lakeside Foods facility in Plainview is just one
of eleven food processing plant in the Lakeside system.
The Plainview facility is also one of six distribution
facilities. Located in one of the nation's premier vegetable
growing regions, southeastern Minnesota, the Plainview
Plant is among the industry's largest and most automated
pea and corn manufacturing facilities. With over 650,000
sq. ft. and peak employment of 530 people, this facility
processes both canned and frozen products. Lakeside
also labels and packages all canned sizes, all poly
sizes and all institutional and bulk sizes. For more

Plainview
Milk Products Cooperative was established in 1899 as a
dairy cooperative servicing local patrons. Today, over
300 members are located throughout southeastern Minnesota
and southwestern Wisconsin. The cooperative diversified
its products and services in recent years by designing
and implementing a bulk dry blending facility, by expanding
its custom processing abilities to include organic product
drying and instantizing, and by developing expertise in
processing specialty ingredients. To better serve the
ag community, the cooperative owns and operates the Super

and boilers. The company delivers bulk and bags to homes
and stores throughout the USA, providing large quantities
for retail outlet customers. All pellets are Pellet Fuel
Institute (PFI) certified—meaning the pellets are
tested periodically to meet the fuel grade requirements.
All corn and corn blend products have been tested by the
University of Minnesota's Agricultural Utilization Research
Institute (AURI) to meet Eagle's quality standards.
